OSPAC Open House Blues to Rock Session videos
On Friday evening, September 27th, 2024, Lionel Rault lead a session entitled Blues to Rock. Three members of the Cosmopolitan Music Society joined the house band to perform songs that represent the origins of big band jazz and blues in New Orleans.
In the mid part of the evening, Peter North & Holger Petersen conducted a fascinating talk about the history of blues music in Edmonton. The converstion touched on musical icons like Hans Stamer & Big Miller, radio programs, festivals such as the Edmonton Blues Festival, clubs, ptomoters, record companies, and record stores
Punch Drunk Cabaret performed the final set of the evening.
